The house
& garden
A country farmhouse brought back to life: sand-coloured plaster, a tiled roof with exposed rafters under the eaves, wood-framed windows and a wrought-iron balcony on stone corbels.
Brought back
to life
Out front, a gravel courtyard and a stone path; around it, an olive tree, a linden in bloom and the old fig. You come in through a glass door — and through it you already glimpse the green of the garden.
In the shade
of the fig
Behind the house lies the lawn. Wrought-iron café tables and chairs scattered on the grass, in the shade of the fig tree: the right place for a slow coffee, a book, the cool of the evening. Tall hedges all around give space and shelter; a portico covers the outdoor corner even when the sun is high. [Breakfast in the garden in summer — to confirm.]
"From the balcony and the garden the eye runs over the hills to the villages perched on the hilltops."
The view · Il Boscheto
Early in the morning the mist settles in the valleys and the bell towers rise from the white.
The show Monferrato puts on at almost every dawn.
